Fine overall as a tool room model, with the iron mostly bright, some scattered small patches of light surface pitting, and attractively aged brass. Grips are absent. Mechanically non-functioning as a tool room model. The box is fine with minimal wear.
Manufactured c. 1860, this is a rare example of an early experimental/tool room model of the Smith & Wesson No. 1 Second Issue revolver. An included note attributes this as a fully machined but not polished tool room example. Multiple components are absent. Includes a box with hand-made label listing this revolver as a tool room model, a trigger, and a hammer.
